Fruit Booters
M83 has a new vid. It gives a whole new meaning to curious teens. Two especially, named Kim and Jesse, who seem to do everything in tandem... apparently. So far with the two vids coming from Saturday Youths, M83 really wants to bring back a few things that I would happily forget; art-y goth kids who listen to the Cure too much, and fucking roller-skates/blades. Not too mention the haggard pink leotards these two mannish chicks wear.

California Surfin. Trailing That Gnar Gnar
This man simultaneously exposed my worst fear as well as my furthest fetching dream. He is either the Smartest surfer or the most idiotic. "Where's the pole?! Where's the pole?!"
How much would you have given to see the shark get hip to the game, turn around, and knock him off his board near the other surfer turning it into a Faces of Death vid?

One BIG Reason to Miss Home
I know I am in one of the biggest cities in the world right now. I know I shouldn't be pining for things far away and familiar. BUT the lack of real good ol' live American music is something to be missed. Recently passed, one of the biggest emerging music festivals in the States happened, The Pitchfork Music Festival. Since it started gaining juggernaut indie momentum about three or four years ago, the line ups have been getting more and more impeccable. Underground favorites play the main stage, and really talented new comers set a fucking beautiful backdrop for all around aesthetic orgasm 'cumming in your earpussies'.
I have seen Deerhoof and Panther and the garbage Xiu Xiu while here in Japan with a handful of great DJ's and Benjamin Diamond, but nothing can compare to the feeling felt from watching this all out dance party on the Pitchfork stage some hot chicago night a few weeks back.
It really makes me miss home and long for a crowd, who in my philistine observance, is a little bit more in the 'know' when it comes to a real dance floor. I tried to mix a few hip-hop tunes and indie-dance tracks into some house at a an event I was able to DJ at in Omiya a month back, and let me tell ya, NO ONE was having the shit that make ya swing. Japanese people some times just want four on the floor Paul Okenfold. Fine by me, but I miss home.

Only the Gorillaz could make the Olympics exciting.
I will watch whatever the hell comes on after this video. It could be the Olympics for seven kids getting their arms chopped off. Hell, I'd even watch Roseanne.
Thanks, Stereogum
Highly entertaining Kung-fu monkies.
