I always try and stay a well connected individual. In between frequenting the Stereogum and Gorilla Vs. Bear blogs, you know, i glance at a news article or two. I listen to NPR when in the states and my life is free wheelin' in the info age we have entered since 'Hackers' in 96.
However, I feel two ways about Japan aiming to launch paper plane into space. Words really cannot describe both the surprise and impulse to tell no one of this gem of info. It's what the french call, 'le too sweet'. If this works, yet again another far eastern thing to dramatically influence the west. Now, influence isn't the same as dictate the course of history, rather just let everyone know that the Nippon are still here.
If all countries of the world were in a free period class together, Japan would remain as the stereotype; the small geeky math nerd in the back corner of the room folding paper and doing sudoku. I envision the French as a very sanguine and attractive bitch. Germany...another fukkin nerd. In liederhosen no less. Portugal and, hell, South America would be the kid who jumps off a roof in 'The Virgin Suicides'.
So, back to the point, when asked by the jocks like America or England if he could do their math homework or give them an idea for their science fair project, he meekly shakes his head no and then offers up a beautifully crafted origami swan. What do Sam and Robert (america and england) do? They greedily snatch it and through it out the window.
