I'm a riot?!? You're a fuckin' Ra Ra Riot!!!

On Tuesday, i was lucky enough to not bitch out and go see a few bands after work at my favorite venue in toledo, Frankies.  For a measly $2 i was able to catch three shit bands and two good ones.  Not to mention that they always have $1 PBR all day everyday.  It's always a treat.  The only thing of imprtance, as to which is the reason I'm writing this blog, is to tell you about a band from NY called Ra Ra Riot.  A very solid sounding band.  I don't like Badly Drawn Boy, but for some reason the lead singer reminds me of him....except he doesn't SUUUUUCK!  

Band high points are two women who play the cello and violin as well as sing and look happily intense, a fucking amazing guitar and bass duo who feed off each other via musical choices, and a drummer that could probably play any and all contemporary folk-y-pop music of our day, not to mention the blast beats he'd break into between songs.  They are plain good with no frills other than simply feel-good song writing about romance and walking in the city at night.  They are featured in npr's All Music Considered with "dying is fine" off their new ep.  

Go to the site.  Listen to their music, as well the other goodies on NPR's listener based features (ex. Tut Tut and others) and fucking get BEARD ABOUT IT.  MUTHA FUCKAS

  

A man should be more celebrated

Found a little artist that should be hailed as the most resilient human that's been around for a minute.  

I think I'm slightly biased.  I have been called Zak-Zak-The LEGO-Maniac since 1984-85.  It's faded in my older age, but has never left completely.

So, if anyone wants somewhat of a jump on any new movies, as well as be completely lazy by not reading about them at sites like rottentomatoes.com or the like, one can simply sit back and watch trailer after good to horrible trailer at www.apple.com/trailers.  

     Being the lazy sack that I am I was perusing the latest in hollywoods brilliant ideas for entertainment, and I'm happy to announce that after the release of this movie I can die a completely disappointed, broken, soulless, mentally disheveled death.  The shear magnitude of this movies will send me to cardiac arrest.

This is going to be one bad... trip? More like one bad movie. Ew!

God Damn It

Record comes out 1/29.  I have been hooked and don't care.  Jesus, I can feel the babydoll dresses dancing now.
